Dundee Wedding Photography at All Souls Church and Invercarse Hotel with Ailie and Michael

The September weather was perfect for wedding photography on Ailie and Michael’s big day. The photography started at Ailie’s parents’ house in Dundee where the bridal party were getting ready.

Ailie’s dress was made from beautiful fabric with lovely details. Her bridesmaids helped her get dressed.

The wedding ceremony was at All Souls Church in Invergowrie, Michael and the guests were getting seated, ready for the bridal party arriving.

Ailie’s Dad walked her up the aisle to meet her soon-to-be Husband.

After the ceremony, we did a few group shots at the church, the neighbours kindly let us use their garden! I loved colours of the bridesmaids dresses together with the kilts….

The wedding reception was held at the Invercarse Hotel, Dundee. It was perfect weather for the guests to enjoy a few drinks and chat in the garden while Ailie and Michael had some photos together.

The gardens are Invercarse are lovely for photos.

The speeches before dinner were hilarious. I was the Photographer for Michael’s best man a few years ago so I had heard them both speak before and knew there would be some good stories shared!

It was a lovely evening so we got a few photos outside before the evening guests arrived and the dancing kicked off.

Congratulations Mr and Mrs Bannon x

Glen Doll Wedding Photography with Shelley and Mike

Corrie Fee on Glen Doll is hands down one of the most beautiful parts of Scotland so I thought it was an excellent choice of wedding venue for Mike and Shelley’s wedding ceremony. They are keen mountain climbers who love the outdoors.

Mike and their guests arrived at the Ranger Station on a rather rainy day in May!

A wee walk up the mountain in varying footwear choices ensued to reach beautiful Corrie Fee.

Gary the Humanist set up his (soon to die in the rain) iPad and Shelley and her bridesmaids made their way up the hill for the ceremony.

The rain and wind seemed to get progressively more dramatic as the ceremony went on and I just loved that absolutely no-one cared, they all just happily embraced the drenching! My precious new Sony cameras were experiencing their first Scottish downpour and by this point I’d given up trying to shield them and just let it happen while I lay in the mud!

With the I do’s done, there were a few hugs and congratulations before the guests made their way down the hill.

They newlyweds chucked their brollies away and stayed for a couple of photos before catching up with the guests.

In typical Scottish style, the torrential rain cleared up and half an hour later it was lovely so we got a few more photos at the Ranger Station before heading off.

The reception was held at The Newport Restaurant. All the guests arrived to hear a few speeches before being treated to a great meal overlooking the Tay. The perfect end to an imperfectly perfect day, filled with all the best things: love, laughter, adventure, good food and great people ūüôā Congratulations McWilsons – you rock!

Karen is absolutely brilliant! so lovely and relaxed and really listened to what we wanted for our wedding. also shes the most badass photographer ever who hiked up mountainside in a storm to capture our wedding!🤣¬†the photos are incredible and we are so so happy with them! cannot recommend her enough! thanks for everything Karen xxx

Balbirnie House Hotel Wedding Photography with Angela and Tommy

Balbirnie House has recently been voted the best wedding venue in the world so I probably don’t need to explain why I like photographing there! Angela and Tommy had their wedding here back in May on a seriously sunny day! I arrived to see the garden all set up for an outdoor ceremony…

Then I headed inside to find Angela and the ladies getting ready for the occasion…

The girl’s were ready early so we had time for some photos in their room before the ceremony.

Meanwhile Tommy and the guests were waiting in the sunshine…

After the ceremony, there was a drinks reception on the lawn and we took some group photos …

I also captured some of the happy couple, we found some shaded corners out of the intense sun!

I got some shots of all the gorgeous details of the day, how good does this cake look?! Can you spot the subtle Disney theme in the decor?….

After some hilarious and emotional speeches, the guests were surprised by some singing Waiters…

Even the real Waiters got into the spirit of it! The evening guests were next to arrive, followed by a bit of dancing…

Congratulations Mr & Mrs Keay!

Perth Small Wedding Photography with Akos and Andrea

I love a bit of small wedding Photography and this was a tiny one, with only 7 guests! I spend just two hours in Perth, taking photos of Andrea and Akos. We were so lucky with the weather, it was warm and sunny so luckily not too much a shock to the system for Andrea’s family who had come from sunny Hungary for the occasion!

The ceremony was held in the Old Council Chambers at Perth Registrars. It is a beautiful old building as you can see here. Andrea walked up the aisle with her Dad to meet her Groom….

They had decided to keep the ceremony short as Andrea’s parents don’t speak English so we weren’t there long but it was a lovely ceremony.

After the ceremony, everyone came out into the Scottish sunshine for a wander along the riverside to the North Inch park for some photos.

Perth has lots of old buildings and great scenery for wedding photography so we had a few stops along the way.

We took a few family photos at the North Inch before heading to the Royal George Hotel where they were having their wedding reception.

The George Hotel is another lovely old building with stained glass windows. I captured a few shots of everyone relaxing and enjoying a celebratory drinks before I left them to enjoy themselves. I was only with them for two hours which is perfect to capture the best parts of a tiny wedding like this.

Cheers Andrea and Akos, enjoy married life!

Ballathie House Hotel Wedding in Perthshire with Ruth and Robin

Ballathie House Hotel is lovely place, an old country house on a huge estate with nice bright rooms and cosy fires a great choice of venue for Ruth and Robin’s wedding.¬† I arrived to see some impressive cars owned by Robin and his friends’ but even more impressive was this cake stand filled with Tunnocks goodies!¬† ¬†¬† ¬†The guests all met and caught up in the hall before they were ushered inside for the ceremony, then Ruth made her entrance looking gorgeous in her bespoke dress ūüôā ¬†The big smiles from the bride and groom say it all ūüôā ¬†After the ceremony everyone enjoyed a celebration drink while I kept one eye on the window waiting on the rain going off!¬† It stopped for about 5 minutes and I just managed to get this group shot before the downpour! ¬†Luckily we had use of the bright ceremony room for a few more group photos and for everyone to socialise in while I got some natural shots. Congratulations to you both <3

“The photos are great and really reflect the relaxing and enjoyable time we were all having”

Fingask Castle Wedding Photography with Lucy and Neil

I love a Fingask Castle wedding, no two are ever the same, so I was happy when Lucy and Neil booked me for their autumn wedding.

For anyone who hasn’t been, Fingask is a castle with the most amazing grounds in the countryside between Dundee and Perth.

The day started with some Bridal Prep photos in the castle.

Meanwhile Neil and the guests were gathering downstairs for the ceremony..

Lucy’s Dad walked her down the aisle to meet her Groom. They had a Humanist ceremony with a bit of Quaich drinking and knot tying.

After the ceremony, we headed outside to the Castle grounds for some photos.

Fingask has THE best backdrop for a big group photo!

While the newlyweds had their wee photo shoot in the garden, the guests enjoyed a few drinks and canapes before walking over to the Marquee for dinner.

The Marquee looked lovely for the guests arriving, lots of time and detail had gone into the decor. They were also the first couple to hire this flower wall…

Speeches and dinner were enjoyed before the guests were treated to some music by the pipe band Lucy’s Dad and Sister play with.

The band then got the dancing started for the evening…

Congratulations Lucy and Neil ūüôā
