Scottish Farm wedding with Kirsty and Greig

I love a good Scottish farm wedding so I was excited to photograph Kirsty and Greig’s big day on Kirsty’s family farm in Angus. The day started off with some bridal prep photography at Kirsty’s Parents’ house.

They had an impressive Marquee set up for the celebrations. Lots of time and effort had been put in to make the garden look amazing…. we weren’t in the garden much… you’ll find out why soon!

The girls were having a lovely time getting ready while the boys headed to Carmyllie Parish Church where my second Photographer, Lynne, was waiting to capture them meeting the guests.

It was time for Kirsty to go to meet her soon to be Husband!

It was a great ceremony, the Minister kept everyone amused!

The guests came out into the sunshine to throw some confetti on the newlyweds!

We headed back to the farm to take some photos with the beautiful views from their fields.

Black thunder clouds were rolling in so we had around 2 minutes before we all had to make a run for it!

Luckily there was plenty of space in the Marquee to shelter the guests during the heavy downpour!

About 2 minutes before they were due to start dinner, the rain went off and I spotted a rainbow across the road. It was too rare an opportunity to miss so we dashed over for a few photos before being called to do speeches.

It turned out to be a nice evening so the guests were able to enjoy the garden at last! Everyone made good use of dance floor that night too 🙂

Congratulations!

The Rhynd Wedding Photography with Lynsey and Gregor

I was genuinely excited when Lynsey and Gregor booked me for their wedding at the Rhynd.  As a wedding Photographer in Fife, it is exciting  to find a new DIY wedding venue, especially one in a beautiful setting close to where I grew up….  I wasn’t disappointed! The day started with Bridal Prep photos at the girl’s AirBNB in Dundee…. You may notice a slight Disney theme here, Lynsey is a huge Disney fan and Gregor even proposed at Disneyland’s Magic Kingdom!  It was perfect sunny weather for their wedding day, the guests were welcomed to Fife with a blue sky 🙂 They had a Humanist ceremony indoors, there was a few tears shed in the barn that day!  Afterwards everyone came outside for a Gin Bar reception in the garden.  Lots of congratulations, hugs and laughter followed!  The garden is handy for group photos too, here is the lovely Bridal Party.. After the guests enjoyed a gin or two and some group photos, I took Gregor and Lynsey down the road to Tentsmuir Forest for some photos on the beach. This is one of my favourite beaches in the world, it has perfect golden sand and it honestly felt like we were in Spain that day, it was so warm!  We had a wee 10 minute shoot before we felt like we might all roast (especially Gregor in his kilt jacket), then we headed back to the guests.  Everyone got to pick a toast drink on their way to hear the speeches. Speeches and dinner were well received! It was a beautiful evening with some golden sunlight so I couldn’t miss the opportunity to grab the newly weds for a quick photo shoot outside before their evening guests arrived.  The Rhynd is on a farm and the fields outside have great views. We went back in for dancing, I left them with a full dance floor and I’m sure they had a great evening! Conratulations Mr and Mrs Hunter!

“Honestly Karen they are absolutely fantastic. Gregor and I were in love with every single photo and it even stirred up some tears. You truly are a fantastic photographer and we couldn’t have asked for a better photographer on the day.”

The Cow Shed Crail Wedding with Andy and Amy

The Cow Shed in Crail is a wedding venue I’ve been counting down the days to visiting ever since Amy and Andy booked it last year… you’ll soon see why!  I had actually already taken wedding photos of Amy about 7 years ago (not for a real wedding, she modelled for some wedding photos at her Mum’s work when she was a teenager) so I was really happy when she booked me for her real wedding to Andy (the same tall boy she was going out with when we first met!).The day started off with some bridal prep photos at Amy and Andy’s house, where the girl’s were having their hair and make up done. There was a wee bit of emotion when Amy came downstairs in her beautiful wedding dress!  I think Lilly approved of her Mum’s dress choice too 🙂Meanwhile my second Photographer Lynne was with Andy and his Groomsmen over at his family’s farm before they all headed to the Cow Shed…The bridesmaids arrived in style in this classic VW Camper-van.  I absolutely loved these sequin dresses, they look great in the photos….The Cow Shed is a DIY venue and Amy and Andy had decorated absolutely every corner with cosy blankets, home made jam favours, chalkboard signs, lighting and even a kid’s tent to keep the little ones amused during the day.  Andy is a fishmonger so I especially liked this sign haha….The Camper-van came back with Amy and her Dad and it was time to get married!  Lilly and her favourite bunny were first to enter the ceremony room….First look *gulp*It was a tight fit at the front of the room but I was able to peek between the best men to catch some smiley faces from the families 🙂Andy and Amy had a Humanist ceremony with a few reading and a bit of knot tying,  this was their first kiss as Mr & Mrs…I’d guess by their faces they are all happy to be married 🙂A bit of Confetti throwing and photos outside followed the ceremony! The Cow Shed is surrounded by fields and Amy was up for swapping her Jimmy Choo’s for wellies for the photos…After the photos it was time to eat!  The marquee had just as much amazing decor as the rest of the venue with another VW camper-van as a bar amongst the other details…There was just a small matter of getting the kids off the bouncy castle first…Some lovely speeches before the meal and evening guests arrived.  Soon it was time for the party to start!Amy and Andy were the second cutest couple on the dance-floor that night!Everyone was up giving the ceilidh dancing a go when I left and it was all going well!Congratulations Amy and Andy xxx
