I was originally booked to shoot Rachael and Grant's wedding in Aviemore back in 2020, but like many couples, Covid delayed their plans. Two years and two venues later, I so was happy when their plans to get married at Dun Aluinn, a beautiful rental house in Aberfeldy, finally became a reality! The house is stunning with beautiful views over Perthshire, it was the perfect spot for their 15 guests to relax and enjoy the weekend together. It was a typical Scottish day, an unpredictable mix of rain and sun, but we managed to get out between showers and made the most of the house the rest of the time. I arrived for some getting ready photos, the couple have four daughters between them, handy for getting Rachael's hair and makeup done! Rachael's sisters had also prepared flowers and canapes so there was team effort for the wedding preparations. Rachael was walked down the aisle by their handsome Golden Lab, Oscar. The Humanist ceremony was lovely, personal, a few happy tears were shed, some surprise singing and dancing happened and there was loads of laughter throughout. It always feels so special when there are only a few people there. A celebratory drink followed, a good opportunity to get some candid photos of everyone. We took some photos inside during the rain, they had the most beautiful natural flower arch in the ceremony room for a backdrop and the staircase inside the house is quite spectacular. We got outside for some confetti action and a bouquet toss too. The whole day was relaxed, intimate and fun. A celebration with just their family that probably went on long after I left them to it!
