I was originally booked to shoot Kate and Justin's wedding at Perth Registry Office in 2020, but as they were to fly over from their home in Belgium, Covid delayed their plans by two years. I was so excited when they changed their plans to have a wedding adventure with Highland Safaris in Perthshire. If you aren't familiar with Highland Safari weddings, you will soon see why! We met at the foot of Dull Hill near Aberfeldy on a lovely, dry summer day. We were all driven up the hill in Landrovers, the Scottish scenery and wildlife you see on the journey is worth bouncing around the bumpy track for! The Registrar travelled up with us and the ceremony was quickly underway, it always feels so personal when there are only a few people there, the setting made it extra special. A celebratory drink followed which was a good opportunity to get some candid photos of the family together. The Highland Safari guys prepared an impressive picnic for everyone in the Schiehallion Bothy, a cute wooden shelter on the hill. We took some photos on the hill and on the journey back down. The family were heading back to Kenmore for dinner afterwards. A wedding day can be whatever you want it to be and I loved that Justin and Kate created a day that suited their family perfectly.
